RECOMMENDED FOR MOST PROPERTITIES
EIGHT FOOT TICKET TO A
COUPLE OF INCHES OF DEBRIS
A tracked machine with a mower head runs over the thicket and cuts it close to the ground, chopping the canes into small pieces as it goes. An 8 to 10 foot wall of thorn becomes a low layer of debris a couple of inches deep, left on site to break down.
Nothing gets hauled, nothing gets burned, and there are no trucks and trailers parked on your street all weekend. The ground is walkable the same day.
Then the important part starts, and it is easier than most people expect.

YOUR PART
Add It To Your Regular Mowing Schedule And You Will Never Notice The Blackberries Again.
Once the heavy cut is done, the regrowth is soft green shoots, not woody thorn canes. Keep them knocked down before they get tall and the plant never rebuilds its root reserves.
THE TARGET
CUT IT AT FOOT OR SO
Around a foot to a foot and a half of regrowth is the sweet spot. Frequent enough to keep the plant losing ground, relaxed enough to fit a normal schedule.
THE EFFORT
ABOUT 15 EXTRA MINUTES
On a riding mower it is a quick extra loop. That is the difference between a chore you keep up with and one you quit.
THE GEAR
EQUIPMENT YOU ALREADY OWN
A lawn mower handles it. A weed whacker works too, it just takes longer. No special tools, no chemicals required.
THE PAYOFF
CUT IT AT FOOT OR SO
Keep it up and the root reserves run out. How long depends on your property, conditions and how often you cut. Brendon gives you a straight read at the estimate.
GOD FITS
Where Mowing Is The Right Call
FENCE LINES
Long runs where brush grounds out electric fence and hides the wire.
PASTURES AND FEILDS
Large open areas where excavation cost would be hard to justify.
RECLAIMING A BACK YARD
Yards lost to years of growth that you want usable again this season.
SPECTIC AND UTILITY AREAS
Ground where digging is risky but the brush still has to go.
